Mac Haul: Twig Lipstick, ProLongwear Concealer and Brush Cleanser

Hey everyone I know I've been a little MIA recently but I'm finally back. School has been super stressful lately and all of the extracurricular activities have started up now so making time to blog can be super difficult. But all of that aside I have a little Mac haul to share with you today. I went to New York for Canadian Thanksgiving which was this past October and of course I had to go shopping. Mac in the States is much cheaper than Mac here in Canada so of course I had to pick a few things up.

The first thing that I got was a lipstick in the shade Twig. My aunt had this colour and when I tried it on I fell in love and I just knew that I had to get my hands on it. Twig is a Satin lipstick with a semi-matte finish, that feels super smooth on the lips. It's a muted pink with hints of brown and maybe even some plum depending on the light. Twig is such a perfect transition colour for the fall or spring when you want to bridge the gap between lighter pinks and nudes to darker berries and reds. Its just one of those perfect and easy colours that can go with a neutral or smokey/dark eye look. Twig is also such a versatile colour for a multitude of skintones, it looks amazing on light or dark complexions. On lighter skintones its more of a darker, plum-y, pinkish brown but in darker skin tones it looks a lot ligter and more of a pinkish plum. So I would recommend swatching this beauty next time you're in a Mac store for sure!

The next product that I got was the ProLongwear Concealer in the shade NW 35. I had one of the makeup artists match me and NW 35 is what she gave me. Now I really like this concealer and it actually is very long wearing; I can put it on in the morning and it lasts all the way into the evening when I'm ready to wash it off when I shower. So I usually wear it for around 8-10 hours and it still looks pretty good, I mean it does fade and crease a little by the 8 hour mark but I think that, that is pretty darn good. Also although I do love this conceler I have noticed that I have been breaking out a little bit more but I am not certian if it is the conceler so I will have to keep an eye out and also I find that this concelor does have an odd smell, kind of like wet socks or if you leave a wet towel in a bag (LOL) so if you are like me and you hate smells like that then it may be a little hard for you to get past. But other than that its such an amazing product so do check it out!

The last thing that I picked up was the Mac Brush Cleanser. Now I know that you might be saying "why would you buy a $15.00 brush cleanser when you can use dish soap and olive oil or baby shampoo" (and as a quick side note I will be writing a post about how I clean my brushes) well the reason that I bought the brush cleaner is because I wanted a spot cleaner for my brushes. Something that I could quickly clean my brushes with when changing between eyeshadow colours or just to keep bacteria from building up on my brushes between deep cleaning. But if you do plan to use this product as a spot cleaner you probably will want to buy a spray nozzel so that you can spray the cleanser directly onto the brushes.
